Hertz Rent A Car that featured a catchy phrase, a snappy tune and a
well-dressed couple descending from mid-air into the comfy front seat
of a snazzy new convertible. "Let Hertz put you in the driver's seat"
went on to become an icon of advertising history in part because
the commercials begged to be parodied. Many, including the 1964 film,
Good Neighbor Sam (clip bellow) obliged. The TV ads were silly, but
ultimately NCK drove their message to a spot on the Ad Age list of
top 100 campaigns of the 20th century.
